Acupuncture works by restoring the flow of energy, or qi, in your body. When this energy gets blocked or out of balance, it can cause pain, fatigue, or other symptoms. Acupuncture can help release these blockages, letting your body heal from the inside out. I often combine it with moxibustion—a warming technique using the herb mugwort—to give you an even deeper sense of relief and relaxation.

This therapy helps to release physical and emotional trauma stored in your body and reverse the effects of injury, stress, and aging.

Zen BodyTherapy® was developed from the pioneering work of Ida Rolf, who created Rolfing/Structural Integration, and William "Dub" Leigh, who integrated movement therapy from Feldenkrais and other manual techniques. During each Zen BodyTherapy® session, I work with you on hands-on manipulation of your body’s fascia to improve alignment. You’ll be an active participant, working with me to make adjustments in your movement and posture. Over the 10-session program, we’ll progressively realign your body to help you achieve lasting relief and improved well-being.

Physio-Synthesis is a therapeutic system of formulated movements designed to realign your body, retrain your inner core muscles, and harmonize them with your outer muscles. When you book a BodyTherapy session with me, you're not just getting one technique—you're getting a blend of modalities tailored to what your body needs. Depending on your condition, I’ll integrate the following methods to support your healing, improve your movement, and ease your discomfort:

  • Acupuncture: A core part of my approach, acupuncture involves the precise placement of fine needles to stimulate your body’s natural healing response. It helps regulate the nervous system, improve circulation, reduce pain, and restore balance on multiple levels.

  • Moxibustion: A warming technique using mugwort to gently heat specific areas, improving circulation and easing pain. It’s especially useful when there’s stagnation or cold in the body.

  • Cupping: This gentle suction therapy helps release muscle tension and promote better blood flow. You might’ve seen the circular marks it can leave—those fade quickly, but the benefits last longer.

  • Gua Sha: I use a smooth tool to apply gentle pressure to your skin, helping to reduce inflammation, improve circulation, and ease tight muscles.

  • Tui Na Massage: A form of deep tissue work rooted in traditional Chinese medicine, Tui Na focuses on energy flow while addressing muscle tension and mobility issues.

  • Trigger Point Therapy: This technique targets specific points of muscle tightness that can cause pain in other areas of your body. By releasing these points, we can reduce chronic pain and improve range of motion.

  • Structural Integration/Zen BodyTherapy: A hands-on approach that focuses on realigning and balancing the body’s structure through deep tissue work. This method helps improve posture, movement efficiency, and overall body awareness.

  • Sotai Movement Method: A gentle, mindful movement practice that helps restore natural alignment and ease of motion. By moving in ways that feel good, Sotai helps release tension and retrain your body’s patterns.

  • Seitai Body Alignment: A Japanese approach to promoting natural body alignment and self-regulation. Through subtle adjustments and guided movements, Seitai helps your body return to its innate state of balance.

  • Herbal Support: When it makes sense for your treatment, I may suggest simple herbal remedies to complement our work together. These can help support your healing from the inside out.
